My first pair of Chaco sandals turned sixteen years old this summer. The straps are frayed and the sole is about worn through. They’re as comfortable as ever, and they still have some life in them, but it was time for a new pair. So I turned to Chaco’s new Z/Cloud sandals. Chaco has since switched from the Vibram soles found on my old sandals to their own ChacoGrip™ soles, with new tread patterns designed for optimum traction on wet terrain. The Z/Cloud also features an improved LuvSeat dual density midsole, making an already insanely comfortable footbed even better by adding more cushion under foot.

DESIGN & PERFORMANCE

I’ve found no other sandal that fits and performs as well as Chaco sandals. I practically live in these things all summer – trail running, camping, hiking, festivals, and sluffing around town. That strap system is simple, secure, and easy to adjust to fit your needs. And if you can’t find a webbing color or pattern that fits your style, you’re not trying.

BOTTOM LINE

With Colorado roots, Chaco sandals are about the only thing you’ll see on the feet of active mountain folks around the state during the summer months. For good reason. They’re impossibly comfortable, lightweight, durable, and versatile enough that you can run a river in the morning, a trail in the afternoon, and go out to dinner in them in the evening (wife approved, trust me!).

PS – Chaco flip flops also ROCK!!
