Festival Essentials: Sunglasses

Festival

By Mitch Kline

You spend an obscene amount of time out in the sun at festivals. Don’t mess around with cheap sunglasses. We’re big fans of polarized lenses, rubber nose and temple pieces, and all-around versatility in our shades. Here are a few of our favorite sunglasses for everything from festivals to fourteeners.

#5 | VonZipper Dipstick

VonZipper Dipstick

A member of VonZipper’s Hotbox collection, the Dipstick features RGNS no slip rubber nose pads and temple tip pads and the most unique “smoked” lenses we’ve ever seen. And while we can only speculate about the inspiration behind the name of this collection, these glasses happened to be announced on April 20th of this year. Probably just a coincidence though.

#4 | Native Ward

Native Ward

We dig Native for their sharp optics and features designed for active outdoor pursuits. N3 polarized lenses. Rubber padded nose and temple pieces. Available in seven colorways. Lifetime warranty.

#3 | Zeal Fleetwood

Zeal Fleetwood

Zeal’s Fleetwood might just be our favorite shape of the summer. And it’s not all about looks with these shades. Zeal leads the way when it comes to environmentally sustainable eyewear, and these all cotton, 100% biodegradable frames are about as “green” as it gets. Italian made, polarized, Rx ready, and available in three colors.

#2 | Spy Angler

Spy Angler

Don’t be fooled by the name, Spy’s Angler is a go-to wrap frame for fishing, but they’re a go-to for any outdoor activity (we love mountain biking in these shades). Rubber nose and temple pads keep these glasses in place and equipped with Spy’s Happy Lens color enhancing and color contrasting technology. You might also dig the small slots at the end of each temple designed to attach the included straps.
