The inaugural combined Outdoor Retailer and SIA Snow Show is in the books. Over 1000 brands, along with nearly 40,000 members of the snow and outdoor industries, took over the Colorado Convention Center to preview next season’s gear. The newly combined trade show had exhibitors crammed into every available inch of the building. It’s impossible to see everything at a show this size, but here’s a preview of some of my favorite 2018/19 snowboard gear and scenes from around the show.
The new Niche Pyre (men’s) and Ember (women’s) feature a blunt nose and mini swallow tail, with rocker in the nose that leads to traditional camber toward the back foot. The Pyre and Ember are both zero-waste, fully recyclable boards, utilizing Niche’s Recyclamine® resin system.
The 2018/19 Simple Pleasures is a member of another solid lineup of “Enjoyers” boards from K2. I’m looking forward to pairing this board up with the K2 Taro boot and Lineup bindings for a fun, surfy ride!
2018/19 K2 Cool Bean. A surfy, swallow tail sled high on my wish list.
Jones Mind Expander, nuff said!
Jones Prodigy. This is the board I want my daughter to ride.
BEST IN SHOW – KID’S SNOWBOARDS
Marhar Woodsman, oh yeah! The Michigan crew once again has a solid lineup, including one of my favorite boards from the last two seasons.
Silverton, CO’s Venture Euphoria and Euphoria Split. You know this board is designed to ride some insane Colorado terrain!
Snowboard Boots & Bindings
Vans’ all-time best selling snowboard boot, the Hi-Standard OG, gets a Schoph graphic. Love this boot.
Now Select Pro. Available with high cups if you’re looking for a super surfy setup.
They might not look like it, but the Flux NX Lace boot is one of the softest in their lineup.
2018/19 K2 Lineup binding.
The Vans Ferra Pro might be the best looking boot – men’s or women’s – I saw at the show. So good!
2018/19 Fix Winslow.
The accolades piled up for 686’s new HydraStash jacket, but I’m more excited about this 686 X Motorhead collaboration! \m/
I’ve been watching Holden from a distance the last few years, but finally got the chance to sit down and take a closer look at their line of outerwear. The new Summit Jacket and Summit Pants are impresssive! Holden teamed up with schoeller to utilize Corkshell™ (wine corks) coating and C_change® membrane. More on this badass jacket and pants combo to come!
I love shirt jackets, and Steamboat Springs, CO based Smartwool has a rad one coming out next season.
