Our long, snowy winter has finally loosened its grip and given way to cool spring days and dry trails! That means daily singletrack rides for me, usually at the fringes of daylight, when temperatures are cool. Spring is also the season when I struggle the most with the right glove selection. Those rides with ten to fifteen degree temperature shifts always throw me off. I hate cold hands, so I usually end up overdressing with gloves and suffering through overheated hands or packing multiple pairs of gloves in my bag just in case.
Ibex makes some of the finest merino wool apparel and accessories available, and this spring their Kilometer Glove has been my go-to for mountain bike rides and commutes (and runs!) with temperature ranges from the high 30s to low 50s. Articulated fit makes these gloves comfortable on the bars. Reflective accents on the fingers and back of hand are subtle but nice additions for extra visibility while commuting. Durability has been good, and these gloves just seem to get more comfortable with time.
Overall, I’d highly recommend these gloves for any cool weather cyclist, runner, nordic skier, or camper who appreciates the benefits of merino wool.
