I was really hoping fall’s colder temperatures would hold off for just a bit longer, but today’s blustery weather brought a ride time temperature of 44 degrees. It ended up being the perfect conditions for a first test of Pearl Izumi’s P.R.O. Softshell Glove.
Ergonomic fit and grippy silicone on the palms and fingers made for a nice bar feel. And as someone who stops to snap a lot of pictures on my rides, I appreciate gloves with touchscreen capabilities. Cuffs are thin and simple, with no velcro, snaps, or other crap (thank you!) and fit easily under my jacket and over my long sleeve jersey cuff.
Note: My hands get cold easily, so I’m a frequent over dresser in the gloves department. These gloves have just enough lightweight Primaloft Gold insulation to keep my hands perfectly comfortable during rides in mid-40s temps.

Bottom Line
