From headlamps to crampons and gloves to tights, these are our favorite gifts for the female runner on your holiday gift list this year.
Hillsound Ultra Trail Crampon
These will ensure your runner is able to hit the trails in icy and snowy conditions. Easy to use, secure fit thanks to the Velcro strap on top. I tested these out on a icy 200 stair incline and on a trail run. I did not question my stepping once- they gripped the ice and allowed me to get my work out done without worry. A must-have for any runner or walker who lives in snowy or icy environments!

Petzl Tikka Headlamp
If your runner is running before sunrise or sunset ( which is most of the day now) This head lamp is a great price! I was amazed at the amount of light it gave off. It cast enough for two of us on a dark evening, without the headlamp we would have had to turn around. Super comfortable- easy to adjust even over a stocking cap. When a car was approaching switching to the strobe setting was quick and easy with the soft buttons on top of the lamp.
Pearl Izumi Women’s Fly Tight
I think I am onto something with safety for your runner during these cold dark mornings or evenings. These tights help with both the cold and visibility. The Fly Tight sits nicely on the hips and has a drawstring to help the waist stay put while running. The Transfer Dry Fabric is relatively thin and light weight for a cold weather tight, however in 30 degree temps the Fly Tight kept me warm. I tested a size med and wear a 4 or 6 in most bottoms. The calf area runs a tad small due to the reflective tape.
Lululemon Down For A Run Vest
I love that is vest is equally stylish and functional. Typically I wouldn’t consider running in a down vest, however when the wind is blowing on an already cold morning the Glyde Light fabric blocked the wind. The Down For A Run vest also has Rulu fabric side panels that helped with mobility and breathability. A couple of my favorite features are the side slip pocket that fit my iphone 6 perfectly and it was easily accessible and the reflective details on the front pockets and along the lower back.

Under Armour Women’s Layered Up Liner Glove
This might be my #1 essential for running on colder days. What makes these gloves great? They have reflective detail (can’t have too much of a good thing), touch screen sensitive finger tips, and grippy palms to help keep your phone from slipping out of your hand (yep, I have shattered a screen while running).
