Right around the same time I got my Helly Hansen Powderqueen 2.0 Jacket, I purchased a similar snowboarding jacket from another prominent brand for my daughter. So, naturally, I compared the two jackets. The truth is, the other jacket doesn’t even come close.
While both jackets have similar details, it’s the quality of those details that sets the Helly Hansen jacket apart. Here are a few of my favorite details on the Powderqueen 2.0.
The sophisticated technology of H2 Flow keeps me comfortable in wide variety of conditions, allowing me to ride from the chill of first chair through the warmth of a bluebird Colorado afternoon. The wide Velcro cuffs are easy to grab with mittens and sturdy enough to last for years. And the wrist gaitors with thumb holes are thick enough to keep my hands warm when I need to take off my mittens. The Life Pocket keeps my phone cozy, helping to extend battery life on super cold days. And the attached chamois is an appreciated extra touch. A high neck helps protect my face on cold, windy days. And the chest pocket’s gold zipper elevates the style of of this jacket.
The fit and military look is definitely on trend. I’d love to see this jacket in a dark gray.
