I have had the Showers Pass Refuge Jacket for several months, waiting for the perfect rain storm to test this on a ride. The reality is that I haven’t worn it in a torrential downpour yet. However, I have tested this jacket in many other situations that have given me the proof I need to keep this jacket easily accessible.
I’ve used this jacket on several cold and blustery mornings, where there was light snow, and it kept me very warm and dry. I even needed to use the handy zippered vents once I warmed up. I love the hood for its perfect fit over my helmet. And the drawstrings on the side help with peripheral vision. I have also used the amazing hidden drop down tail on several occasions, to keep the dirty snow/mud from getting me wet.
During a three hour rafting tour this summer, it started raining as soon as we unloaded the raft, and continued to rain our entire time on the river. The Refuge jacket kept my upper body completely dry and warm.
