While weather is frequently the topic in Colorado, it’s usually about the wild swings, not long stretches of cool, rainy days. But that’s how our spring has shaped up this year. Not exactly the sunny Colorado weather we’ve all come to expect, but it’s provided perfect conditions for testing Helly Hansen’s Pace Block Jacket.
There’s no shortage of jackets on the market that cover the basic requirements for a running shell – light weight, water resistant, and form fitting. The Pace Block Jacket of course does all of this well, but where this jacket stands out is the addition of thousands of tiny fleece dots that cover the entire interior of the jacket. Not only do the dots help to increase air circulation during more intense activity, they prevent the dreaded discomfort of skin on jacket. Not only has this become my go-to for all cool and potentially rainy runs, I also throw it on over a t-shirt for morning dog walks and windy kids soccer games.
This is a truly versatile shell, good for much more than cool weather high intensity workouts.
