Bergans of Norway might not be the first name you think of when it comes to outerwear or base layers, but this Scandinavian based company has won me over with their high quality, reasonably priced, responsibly produced range of Merino Wool base layers.

Bergans of Norway Soleie Tee

Soleie Tee

With all of the benefits of Merino Wool (stink-free for days!), the lightweight and versatile Soleie Tee might just be the most essential piece of apparel I own. It’s my go-to for snowboarding, cycling (at all temps), and under a button-up on the rare dress-up night out….maybe even all on the same day!

  • 100% Merino Wool
  • 25+ UPF

Bergans of Norway Alkeleie Shirt

Alkeleie Shirt

So soft, so comfy! The Alkeleie is a two-layer mid-weight hybrid of Merino Wool and Polyester. I’ve been using it on its own, under a lightly insulated snowboard jacket, along with the Soleie Tee on cold days. It’s ideal for runs when the temperature is in the 40s. Fair warning, it’ll also probably replace your favorite long sleeve t-shirt!

  • Outer fabric: 80 % Merino Wool/20 % Polyester
  • Inner fabric: 100 % Polyester
  • UPF: 50+
