The annual Snowsports Industry Association (SIA) Snow Show descended on Denver last week, bringing thousands from the snow sports industry to preview next year’s ski and snowboard gear. We hit the show for a couple of days to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and see what’s new for next season. Here’s a photo gallery of our favorite snowboards, accessories, and people from SIA 2017.
Men's Snowboards
There are still plenty of traditional pill-shaped boards, but surf inspired shapes continue to surge, with unique shapes being offered by nearly every builder at the show. We approve!
Niche Theme
The 2018 Niche Theme is the first-ever fully recyclable, zero-waste snowboard. Built at CAPiTA’s Mothership factory in Austria, utilizing the Rerez® System, all waste from the Theme is broken down and made into plastic pellets, which are then recycled, repurposed, or upcycled to make new products.
We hear a lot of brands talking about taking their environmental commitments more seriously. Niche has been doing it all along, and they really upped the ante with the 2018 Theme.
RIDE Snowboards Warpig
2018 RIDE Snowboards War Pig, with Rodeo bindings and The ’92 boots. Next year’s Warpig will be available in three sizes, to accommodate more smaller riders.

Marhar Snowboards Woodsman
Marhar Snowboards co-founder Nate Morse with the 2018 Woodsman.
Marhar Snowboards’ Archaic all-mountain board won our 2016 “Best in Show” for men’s snowboards, and the Michigan-based crew continues to build momentum with their 2018 lineup.
Japan based MOSS Snowstick founder Shinzo Tanuma has been shaping surf-inspired snowboards since 1971. mosssnowstick.com
Aaron Lebowitz and Dude with their 91 Chevy bus in the Trail Gate section at SIA 2017
Aaron Lebowitz’ Soulmotion Snowsurf moved from the back corner CRAFT section to front and center as a cornerstone exhibitor in the new Trail Gate area. Aaron lives and breathes the snowboarding lifestyle as much as anyone on the planet, living out of his 91 Chevy bus, which was on display at the show. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, and his snowboards are an extension of his elevated surfer mantra. soulmotionsnowsurf.com

Phunkshun Wear

Phunkshun base layers are made from REPREVE fabric at their zero waste factory, and available in a variety of prints.
Bern Unlimited
The 2018 Bern Unlimited Heist snow helmet is packed with premium features, but priced at a very reasonable $139. This is my personal helmet, customized by Denver artist David Sheets at the Bern booth. Photo by Logan VonBokel.
Native Eyewear
Denver’s Native Eyewear has a new quick change goggle on the way. The 2018 Drop Zone snow goggle features a quick change lens system that utilizes a cantilever system, with a release button on one side of the goggle and a latch on the other side. MSRP $179. nativeeyewear.com
