The best gear is the gear you don’t have to think about. That couldn’t be more true than it is with snowboard bindings. Creating a complex, high performance piece of equipment that’s not only light and strong, but also comfortable enough to keep us on the mountain all day is a tall order. Here are our favorite 2015/16 men’s all-mountain snowboard bindings.
Now Select
You can’t go wrong with any of the bindings on our list, but if we’re forced into a corner to pick just one, it’s gotta be Now’s Select. With improved Hyperfuse straps, new Hanger 2.0 and Flex Hinge 2.0 high backs, and their tried and true Skate-Tech approach, the most comfortable and customizable bindings on the market just keep getting better.
BINDINGS OF THE YEAR
Flux DS
Ridiculously comfortable and light, highlighted by Flux’s new honeycomb straps, convenient toolless adjustments, and micro ratchets. The mid-flex DS rips from park to trees and everything in between.
Burton Genesis EST
We don’t buy into everything that Burton creates, but innovative features like Kickback Hammock hi-backs, Double Take buckles, and Flex Sliders that help your straps fall away from the binding for easier boot entry are just a few of the features that make Burton’s Genesis bindings so damn good.
Rome Katana
Loaded with features like customizable PivotMount ankle straps, V-Rod ultralight base plates, Asym highbacks, anyone paying attention to Rome SDS shouldn’t be surprised by how incredible these Katana bindings perform all over the mountain.
